Privacy Policy

This policy describes the current behavior of CoverCalc Pro, a browser-based calculator and optional AI garden and retractable-fence concept service.

Information entered into the calculator

The dimensions, material choices, prices, and other values you enter are used by the calculator in your browser to produce an estimate. The current calculator does not require an account and does not send those calculation values to a CoverCalc Pro server.

If you choose Use this concept in project after an AI garden preview, the written design brief, selected site conditions, your decision and follow-up note are stored in this browser. The selected generated concept is stored separately as an image Blob in this site's IndexedDB so it can be attached to the project planner; the original uploaded garden photo, verification token and model request are not retained with it. The image is not added to a URL, clipboard summary or CSV. Browser storage may be cleared or unavailable, and records do not travel to another device, browser profile or domain. You can detach the reference from a project or use Delete local image in Planner to remove that stored concept. Optional Project Context details, such as access, preparation, items to protect and other site constraints, are also stored in this browser. A link between the Cost worksheet and Planner contains only the local context identifier; the written context is not placed in the estimate hash or sent with the page request. Project planner entries, including optional concept-reference settings, project selections, budget ranges, local approval names and dates, actual quantities, costs, labor hours and completion notes, are stored on this device and appear only in the local printout, copied summary or CSV you create. They are not placed in a public share URL.

Sharing an estimate

The calculator can create a share link containing your measurements, material choice, ordering rules, currency and prices. These values are stored in the part of the URL after the hash (#), which is not sent in the page request. Anyone who receives the full link can read and reuse those values. Customer estimate fields stay in the current tab until you print or copy them and are not saved automatically. Site details attached in Planner remain in that browser's locally saved worksheet. Copying an estimate or an AI brief puts the selected text on your clipboard; you decide where to paste it. Opening the calculator does not send your entries to an AI provider.

Planner before and after photos

If you choose a before or after photo inside a Planner area, the browser checks the image, creates a local JPEG copy capped at 1600 pixels on its longest side and removes embedded metadata for the local preview and an explicitly selected customer summary. These Planner photos are not uploaded to CoverCalc Pro, added to local storage, written into the worksheet or CSV, or sent to the AI garden service. They remain in the current tab and disappear when you refresh or close it.

Planner photos stay out of the customer completion summary by default. Each photo has a separate customer-summary selection. Avoid photos containing people, house numbers, vehicle plates or other information that should not appear in a printout.

Messages sent to us

If you email [email protected], your message and the information you choose to include will be used to respond to you and to handle the request. Do not send passwords, payment details, or other information that should not be shared by email.

AI garden and expandable-ivy-screen photo previews

Choosing a photo creates a local preview in your browser. Only when you accept the processing statement and press Generate do we send the prepared photo and the visual choices you selected through our Cloudflare-hosted service to Volcano Engine (Volcengine / ByteDance), using its Ark service in China. Garden-design requests can include style, scope, appearance notes and optional observed site conditions. Expandable-ivy-screen requests can include your manually entered opening dimensions, manufacturer-listed size pairs, placement, existing support, expansion direction, visual state, leaf style, protected elements and appearance notes. Optional price and currency fields are used only in the browser-side subtotal and are not required by the image service. These choices are visual directions, not verified cost, fit, strength or safety data. This processing is optional and separate from the material calculators. Do not include people, house numbers, vehicle plates or other information you do not want processed.

The browser resizes and re-encodes the photo as JPEG before upload, removing embedded metadata. Our server does not persist the uploaded photo, appearance notes or generated image in its generation database or an image gallery. They pass through the generation request and initially appear in browser memory. Only the explicit Use this concept in project action keeps the selected generated concept in this browser's local IndexedDB; it does not keep the uploaded original. Planner keeps customer-summary and crew-worksheet visibility off by default, with separate controls for each output. Removing the source photo or closing the AI page clears the in-memory previews. Files you download are stored on your own device.

Volcano Engine and Cloudflare process requests under their own service policies. This service uses a China-region model endpoint, so your photo and instructions are transferred to China for processing. We do not promise that these providers immediately delete all request data or never retain it. Read Volcano Engine's privacy policy and Cloudflare's privacy policy before using the feature.

Generation limits and verification

The AI preview uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check requests. Cloudflare may process device and network signals for this verification. A signed, secure browser cookie lasts up to 30 days and supports the free-preview limit. Our generation database records request identifiers, dates, processing status, and cryptographic summaries of the request and daily network/browser identifiers to prevent duplicates and enforce usage limits. It does not store raw IP addresses, photos, appearance notes or generated images. These CoverCalc Pro generation records currently have no automatic expiry because they support duplicate-request checks and the lifetime free-preview limit. They are not linked to an account, email address or raw IP address, and the request identifier is not retained in your browser or shown after a request. We therefore generally cannot identify which individual database row belongs to someone who later emails us, or verify ownership for deletion of one row. You can still contact the privacy address below with questions about these records. Cloudflare, Volcano Engine and hosting providers apply their own retention policies to data they process, including network addresses and operational logs. Shared networks can share a generation limit.

Generation attempts, including requests that fail or time out after dispatch, count toward the applicable free or project-pass limit. The service does not automatically retry an image generation request. If you enter a Payhip project-pass license, it is sent to our Cloudflare-hosted server only when you press Generate. The server verifies it with Payhip and increments its usage before dispatching the image request. The raw license, buyer email and payment details are not written to our generation database; the database stores a keyed cryptographic summary of the license, the request date and processing status to enforce the pass limit and prevent duplicate requests. The license is not stored in browser storage.

Project-pass checkout

The Ivy Screen Planner links to a third-party Payhip checkout for its one-time US$9 digital Project Pass. Payhip handles payment and license-key delivery. If the image-generation service is available, it verifies a key with Payhip only after you enter it and choose to generate a concept. CoverCalc Pro does not receive full card or bank details. Paddle is not connected to the site's checkout or license delivery.

Cookies, analytics, and advertising

The site does not require sign-in. Google AdSense site code is installed while Google reviews this site; approval and visible ad serving are not yet confirmed. The ad code may contact Google and use cookies or similar storage even when no ad is visible, for advertising, measurement, and invalid-traffic checks. Where a Google advertising consent message is shown, use its choices for ad-related consent. See Google's Privacy Policy and how AdSense uses cookies.

Optional Google Analytics 4 is separate from AdSense. It stays off until you choose Allow analytics in the Privacy choices control in the footer. If you do not allow it, or choose Reject, the Google Analytics tag is not loaded. Your choice is saved in this browser and you can change it at any time using Privacy choices.

The page-view event sent by this site may use Google Analytics cookies and includes the page path, page title, and referrer path. Its page URL drops the hash and all query parameters except one valid value for each safe campaign tag: utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term and utm_id. A separate custom event for a sponsored partner link sends only that partner's domain.

The GA4 web stream currently has Enhanced Measurement enabled. After analytics consent, it can also record scrolls when a visitor first reaches 90% of a page; search-result views when the page URL contains q, s, search, query or keyword (including the matching search term); outbound clicks to other domains (including the destination URL, domain, link ID, text and class); recognized file downloads (including file name, extension and link details); form starts and submissions (including form ID, form name, destination and submit-button text); and engagement with embedded YouTube videos that support the YouTube JavaScript API (including video title, URL and progress). These events are sent only when their documented interaction occurs. Google's Enhanced Measurement event reference lists the event triggers and parameters. The automatic outbound-click event is separate from the custom partner-link event and may include the full destination URL, including its query string.

This site's Google Analytics tag sets Google Signals and ad-personalization signals to off, and keeps ad storage, ad user data and ad personalization consent denied. CoverCalc Pro does not send calculator dimensions, prices, photos or project details to Google Analytics. See Google's Google tag privacy settings for these controls.

Hosting and measurement

The pages are delivered through Cloudflare and include a Cloudflare Insights beacon for basic site measurement. This may process technical request data such as page views, device, and network information. This Cloudflare measurement is separate from optional Google Analytics consent. Calculator dimensions, prices, and project entries are not sent by the calculator to the CoverCalc Pro server.

Third-party services

The site uses Cloudflare for hosting, basic site measurement and AI-request verification; Google AdSense for site review and, if approved, advertising; Google Analytics 4 for optional page-view, Enhanced Measurement and sponsored-partner-link measurement after separate analytics consent; Volcano Engine for optional image generation; Payhip and its connected payment processor for project-pass checkout and license verification; and email-forwarding services for contact messages. Each provider may process technical data needed to deliver its service.
